Research Area:
Coalbed methane, Shale gas, Methane sorption studies, GHG emission, Safety in underground coal mines from methane emission, Degree of gassiness of coal mines, Recovery and utilization of CMM/VAM and mathematical modeling of air pollution.

Research Experience:
Dr. H. Singh is a Senior Principal Scientist and Head of Section of Nonconventional Gases, CSIR-Central Institute of Mining and Fuel Research, Dhanbad. He obtained his M.Sc. degree from BBRA Bihar University, Muzaffarpur and Ph.D. degree from Indian Institute of Technology (ISM), Dhanbad. He has successfully completed more than 150 Consultancy projects, 10 Industry sponsored projects and 3 Grant-in-Aid projects on coalbed methane and mine gases. He has more than 30 research publication in technical journals and proceeding of national/international conferences. He has guided more than forty B.Tech/M.Tech./M.Sc. students for their project work on coalbed methane, GHG emission and safety in underground coal mines. He has successfully organized two courses on Exploration and Exploitation Techniques of Coalbed Methane and Analysis of Mine Gases by Analytical and Portable Instruments. He has also worked as Head of Miners Safety Equipment Laboratory of the institute from August, 2007 to May 2016. He is a member of ET10 and CED22.5 committees of Bureau of Indian Standards, New Delhi. He is a Life member of The Indian Science Congress Association (ISCA), Kolkata, The Mining Geological Metallurgical Institute of India (MGMI), Kolkata and The Indian Mathematical Statistical Society.
